School

My kids are back in school hence this very belated blog update. Nayli is already in Year 1, Primary School, "Sekolah Betul!", no longer in kindergarten. She is in the morning session. I forgot how early school starts. I have been so used to the kindergarten schooling hours that begins at about 8:15 a.m, so it needs a little getting used to, to wake her up at about 6:30 and to make sure that she is ready to leave the house by 7:20 the latest. School starts at 7:30 a.m, it is a good thing that her school is just 200m away from our house, practically in front of our apt block. She is adapting very well to schooling [apart from the early hours]. Though she finds it a bit unsettling that her teacher does not shower her with as much attention as she was used to from her kindy teachers.

Yesterday, she went to school with a really bad cough, so she was saying that she was really coughing continuously in school. I was practically honking! honking! (as in the sounds that she made when she was coughing was so loud, that it was practically ridiculous for the teacher not to noticed!) and yet, she didn't care and didn't even say anything. Awwww, Nayli Nayli Nayli you poor thing. You are no longer in kindergarten, the teacher in schools do not baby their pupils anymore. Especially when she is looking after 44 odd number of them!!! Gosh, but then again, really why can't the teacher just ask herm, Are you ok? Are you taking any medication at all at home? I mean, that's hardly a few seconds of her time right? She does have a point about the teacher not caring. Goodness!

In the afternoon, it's the Sekolah Agama, 2:30 - 5:15p.m.

My little boy, Zarif is 4 this year. We decided to enrol him into kindergarten a year earlier than her sister. We thought he was ready, because he always seemed a little put off whenever his sister could breezily read a book from cover to cover, while he just look at the pictures and had to resort to asking the sis to read for him. The first three days was somewhat rather traumatic for him. Guess it was rather an adjustment to get use to the school environment. He is ok now. Rather excited to go to school. Makes new friends everyday, at least learning a new name everyday. He!he! cute.

The first morning, "Mama I'm tired, I want to go back to bed"!

At school he was alright though, very smart

of the teachers to start with toys!!!
