I'm a mom with 3 kids now!!!

Hello there! I'm back and happy to say that we've had our addition to the family. The miracle that we have been expecting eagerly. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of god, he joined us on Monday at 10.28 a.m on the 26th May, 2008. A healthy baby boy of 3.04kg.

It all started off as a teeny weeny contraction that I shrugged off at about 4:30 a.m. After going to the bathroom for the 4/5 th time that morning, I woke up again at about 5.15 a.m, this time it was not a contraction, I realised I really had to go this time. Then, at about 5.30 I felt my stomach churning again, and I thought oh! oh! Is this it? Only the last time I had such contractions, they were about 4 years ago, so I wasn't sure anymore! Yes, or no? I don't know? Should I tell my husband and wake him up now? Maybe, I should wait a little longer and see whether the pain continues. Soon, it was already Suboh, so I thought, why not, let's just shower and pray and just pack the final essentials that I have not packed in my bag which has been ready for over 2 weeks now. The pain became quite consistent then when I woke my hubby up, the pain became consistent for about half a second or so for every 15 minutes. Then I knew, this is it, the Real McCoy. No kidding. It's time, today's the day.

We actually had an appointment with my Gynae that morning, it would have been my 2nd weekly appointment. So, I am relieved that at least my Gynae is supposed to be around that day. I have been praying that 1) my signs of labour will not be my water back bursting in bed, or at the office or in the car or any other inappropriate places, 2) my gynae will be around to deliver 3) my husband is at my side throughout. Alhamdulillah, all these wishes were granted. Now, I realised that I should have also prayed really hard for a 4th one, which, is a speedy delivery!

You see, my water back has never broken naturally! Don't know why this time, my Dr. insisted that we wait for it to burst naturally. Even though I am like 8-9 cm dilated already and have been having this urge to push since like 9 a.m. Goodness gracious. Forgetting the fact that I was down with fever about a week before and never recovered my appetite since then, I was really tired already, had no energy left, by the time my water back broke and I had to start pushing. My last meal the night before was just an orange, and the whole of that week I only had very very little to eat at every meal time. So not my pregnant appetite, so not even my normal un-pregnant appetite.

I pushed and I pushed but the baby was just not coming out, finally seeing that I was dead tired already and the fact that the baby's position is also hindering it from coming out easily, Dr decided to go for "an assisted" labour which is via vacuum. Quite a harmless looking device. I was afraid that it would somehow cause my baby's head to be deformed then after but thanks goodness it didn't. Anyhow, with that bit of extra help, my baby swooshed out finally.

Ahhhh so this is it! My second son, my third child, finally at long last! Below are some pictures to share with you.

Mothers' Day Weekend

Happy Belated Mothers' Day to all mothers out there! Incidentally it was also my mothers' birthday on the 9th, so it was a double celebration. She wanted to go to this Restaurant in town by the Lake with the revolving gigantic wheels if you catch my drift. It was our first time there for the steamboat. The hygiene was appalling, and the food was not that great either, just so so. Please forget about it if you have plans to try out that place.
Happy 60th Birthday Mak /Wan (as my kids call her), and Happy Mothers' Day. Love you soooo much!!!

Eventhough my mom's birthday was on the 9th, that Friday, we postponed dinner till the next day because I had to attend our company's Annual Dinner & Dance. Much awaited company's event. Usually because this is the time we get a chance to get all dolled up, buy new clothes, buy new shoes and make-up. It usually is the only time in the year that I would be rummaging frantically through my drawer for my eyelash curler and mascara. This year I had a palette of eyeshadows too, some brand sold in the pharmacies, that I purchased for my daughter's kindergarten concert last year. Lucky me! Otherwise, I would be wasting some money on a new eyeshadow, that would only be worn once, like the years before. However, since I am heavily pregnant this year, I did not bother to make or buy any new clothes, because I was not too sure that I would still be around to make it for the dinner. I decided on what to wear only at the very last minute, thank goodness I had something wearable in the closet that fits me and fits the theme for the night, which was Glitz & Glam - The Oscars. Muahaha!ha!ha! I know... don't ask me who came up with that!!! Not that I was able to look anywhere near Glitzy and Glamourous, come on, how glitzy can a 9 months pregnant woman get, plus I was not even showing any cleavage... ala hollywood glam.

Anyhow, I did lugged my heavy self to the chosen hotel, sat through dinner which was not too bad, but the entertainment was so dissapointing that I'd rather not mention it at all. We stil took some photos though just for keepsakes, but that night will always be remembered as one of the most dissapointing dinner event ever. Photo opportunities were never missed though!

don't I look almost not pregnant! he!he! one can always try!

Labour Day Weekend

We have finally decided on a day to hold our 2nd Planning Away Day. This year, we wanted to venture a little further away then MO, KL (where last year’s Away Day was held). However, due to the condition that yours truly here is in i.e being 34 weeks pregnant, the venue was then decided to be just at Equatorial Bangi. At least in cases of emergency I could still be rushed to Ampang Puteri instead of any god forsaken hospital in some district somewhere. Heaven forbid. Well, just for the record, since I am posting this blog, obviously I am still intact.

A couple of us chose to drive directly to the Hotel on Friday morning, but some of us chose to meet up at the office and go together in a rented coach. The trip was surprisingly short, and since it was not that hot a day yet, it was rather pleasant. I had packed myself a hot choc and a cream cheese bagel from SF, since the 1st break is at 10 a.m. Hmmm yummy!

We arrived, on time at about 8:30 a.m whilst the programme is scheduled to begin at 9a.m. A company was engaged to run the event, since last year we ran the programme ourselves, we thought, it would be better if we had an outsider to come in to provide us with a fresh new perspective and ideas.

We played a few games and there were some other activities till about lunch time. We had lunch time at the Chinese Restaurant, where we had Dim Sum. By the time we finished our lunch, we were able to get our room keys already, so we managed to have a quick rest in our own rooms whilst the guys were having their Friday prayers. We re-convened at about 2.30p.m and continued with our programme. We spent the rest of the day, reviewing our past Away Day agenda and our Plan for the rest of the year. The programme finished at 5, and by then spouses are supposed to have arrived to join us for the rest of the 2 day programme.

My hubby and kids arrived promptly as we were finishing up. That was good timing, so we managed to take the kids swimming at their lovely pool before rushing them out of the pool again an hour later, to get ready for the BBQ dinner. The dinner was alright, with loads and loads of food. It was a good opportunity for the spouses to get to know each other and for us to ha!ha! eat! The kids, well they were all a bit shy with each other for the first hour at the max, then the lure of the pool was just too much too take for some that they ended up running all around the pool. Some even succeeded in dipping their leg in the pool. Kids and water!

The main event for the Away Day for the kids is the Telematch scheduled on Saturday. We all had a big breakfast bright and early and we proceeded to the nearby field adjacent to the hotel outdoor car park at about 9 a.m. This event was also conducted by the same consultant who handled our day indoors, the day before. There were about 5 games for both kids and adults. The games were surprisingly simple and silly, yet it was really good fun. I guess because there were great level of participation from everyone involved. The fact that there were not so many of us helps I guess. Plus, we were in a small and safe environment where the kids are free to run around freely. So the parents have no worries if they somehow do not pay full attention to their children every nano second. The games ended at 12.30 p.m spot on schedule. Then it was back to the hotel for a buffet lunch and we checked out soon after. Lovely short break!

Woo what happened to you?

Labour Day... not mine though!

Last Thursday was Labour Day holiday. Instead of having a relaxing day at home, lazing around and catching on my sleep, I had things planned for the whole day, The kids time were already booked by the grandparents, so that worked well with our plan for the morning. So after breakfast, the grandparents came and whisked them off to Bangi for a Brunch event. Whilst we headed to the grandparents' home to collect the baby’s cot. Actually it was Nayli’s cot originally, then passed down to Zarif and now, the little one who is coming soon.

The cot was dismantled first from my mom’s home, then transported to our home and then the cot was re-assembled next to our master bed.

So, there goes our master bedroom’s current layout for the next couple of years at least or until we eventually move out to a bigger home. Well this is nothing compared to when we used to stay with my parents and we had Zarif. There was a Queen size bed, a Super Single Bed and a Cot!!! Yes, all in one room. Imagine that. Talk about confined space.

The kids came home at about 2p.m and I only managed just a short 10 minutes cat-nap before we had to get ready to go out. Bought tickets to watch, Ironman for the 4.50p.m show in GSC 1 Utama.
It was a really good show. I was rather dubious about the choice of actor for the Ironman role, but somehow, I guess it worked. Robert Downey Jr. was very convincing as Ironman. Gwenyth Paltrow was good too, all 90% of the time she was dressed in black, very chic and nice. The baddie was Jeff Bridges, well he has always been a
good actor I guess, so no problem with his acting there. Another good thing about GSC Cinemas I just realised is that the seats are better than the ones in TGV, though may not be so for the kiddies, and they have Salter Popcorns, Yummy!!! I always would go for Salty rather then the Sweet Caramelly ones.
