The E.N.D ( Energy Never Dies)

This is the album that we are currently listening to right now in the car. Over and over again! We just got the album, took us a few full spin of the CD to get accustomed to their style, and now we absolutely love it!

Don't get me wrong, we (as in my hubby and I) are not those yuppies with i-pods stuck at the waist and earphones while we exercise, since:
#1 we are not yuppies
#2 we don't own any i-pods
#3 we don't exercise much ha!ha!

We are not even followers of the music industry. We don't listen to radio much, even more so lately as we find that the radio announcers are getting a bit too irritating, one with particularly irritating voice, and we listen to mostly Fly FM and lately more of Capital FM since there is hardly any DJs.

We some old CDs from yonder years, we rarely buy new CDs now. My choice of CDs have evolved through the years, though I simply cannot stop listening to George Michael no matter what his extra-curricular activities may be.

Anyway, I bought the E.N.D album based on single after single from The B.E.P that we've heard on the radio that is just so catchy and great to listen to. We figured the rest of the album must be good... so I bought it.

Song list:

1. Boom Boom Pow -  1st single of course this goes without saying, this is just awesome, and even till now, you'd never get bored of hearing it

2. Rock That Body  - nice

3. Meet Me Halfway - love it

4. Imma Be - catchy

5. I Gotta Feeling - nice

6. Alive - love it

7. Missing You - love it

8. Ring-A-Ling - catchy

9. Party All The Time - catchy

10. Out Of My Head - nice

11. Electric City - nice

12. Showdown - love it

13. Now Generation - love it

14. One Tribe - nice

15. Rockin To The Beat - nice

16: Mare - a song in Tagalog - really catchy!! - love it

Sorry for not being able to give other reviews other than nice, catchy and love it, the point is none of the song in the album is forgettable. Honestly, I am not exaggerating one bit.

You gotta have this album if unlike us, you have had this for ages already!

Cottons Galore!!!

This update is specially for ladies who are into cotton materials! I discovered this from Azleen. She forwarded some Msian celeb pictures, and I commented on the lovely Baju Kurung materials that they were wearing. Azleen proceeded to inform me that she thinks they came from this particular shop. Check out the online blog at http://www.azzaracottons.com/. I loved it! However, I prefer checking out and feeling the materials rather than ordering online, so I went to the shop itself on Tuesday. I updated my status on FB, and had some comments by interested parties. So Cik Puan Zalifah, this update is dedicated to you. My initial reaction was... oooh I'm not sharing this lovely place with anyone. I want all these for me!!!! Ha!Ha!Ha! Though, it really is much more fun to share. So ladies check out the website. If you do start ordering them do put in a good word for me yah, tell Puan Farah the owner (whom I did not get the opportunity to meet when I was there, I met the lovely mother whom I thought looked so young!!) that I will be coming again and again and again and hope to get a discount for promoting her lovely materials!!!! Here are some pictures that I took while I was there.

I went with my mom and my three kids, mind you. Zaim was fast asleep (with a temperature!!) in the stroller the whole time, so I managed to oogle at the materials and took my time in deciding.

Sorry this picture is a wee bit fuzzy, but then again your vision would tend to get fuzzy after looking at this pretty sight and having to narrow down your choices after a while!

These are my choices, I had to stop at 3 pieces of 2 metres each, for blouses.

My mom chose all these 3 floral prints for baju kurung.

There were also ready made baju kurungs in all sizes!!!

So, if you are like me, more of a see, feel and touch, (not to mention oogle and salivate) kinda person. Do check out the store yourself at the TTDI market, yup you read it right. The Taman Tun Dr. Ismail WET market, 2nd floor, easier access from the elevator. I found it by mistake, first time... I'd say fate was on my Shopoholic Side! :-) Happy Shopping ladies!!!

P/s : Credit Card accepted!!! Ha!ha! That's the best part!!!

Favourite Buka Puasa Dish!

My favourite buka puasa dish every Ramadhan for the past 3-4 years is this Rojak Singapore in Pasar Ramadhan - Wangsa Maju. I just love it, can't seem to get it at any other time of the year. Perhaps I should finally ask the owner where they sell during non-Ramadhan months. For those living around neighbouring areas, this is a must try.

Sajian Tradisi bersama...

Read about the launching of this new Recipe book by Chef Wan at Avon outlets in the papers.

This book won the Best In the World cook book Award in the fund raising cookbooks category.

Zila bought one for herself. We all oggled over the beautiful pictures of the many many traditional recipes compiled. She was kind enough to go to the Avon outlet across the street again to get us our own personal copies each. Hmmm so now, we are flipping the pages over and over again trying to find some inspiration for our buka puasa meal this evening, myself excluded. Why? Well, because yours truly here is still staying at mom's. Zaim is not 2 yrs old yet, so we are not moving out just yet. In the mean time, I am enjoying mak's home cooked meal daily a.k.a no cooking for me. Less headache especially during Ramadhan! I have never bought any of his cook books, though I have leafed through his other books at the book shops but always ended up putting the books back down. Don't know why. Perhaps I should start collecting, to add to my Nigella's & Jamie's books. After all, he is now the Best Celebrity Television Chef in the World!!

So, since I am not gonna be cooking this coming few days, instead of me coming up with a checklist of what I plan to cook, I'm listing a few dishes here that I wish to have for my buka puasa one of these days...

Gulai Lemak Siput Sedut

Sambal Goreng Kacang Botol
(maybe minus the prawns, since I am no fan of prawns)
Kerabu Pucuk Paku bersama Kerang

Urab Nangka dan Tempe
(before buying this recipe book, I have never heard of this word Urab.
But I love nangka muda and tempe, I'm sure it tastes as good as it looks)

On the last page, there's like 10 handy cooking tips from the great chef.

As for the rest of the recipes in the book, PGYO* to find out!
Pictures courtesy of Zila's wonderfully amazing but really not cheap Nokia N97, thanks babe. I surrender to your 5 megapixel camera! best giler!

*please get your own

Should I or should I not???

Oooooh I have been wanting to get this thing like forever. Now, I don't think I can stand it any longer. I am not talking about an LV handbag, or even a Tod's!!! What could I want more than those, right? Well many things like perhaps a tennis bracelet, a whole set of new wardrobe,a Kitchen Aid Mixer, a Golf GTI to name a few!!!! Ok, serious (not that I seriously do not want all those things mentioned) back to my dilemma. I want a DSLR and I want it now. Especially afterour Photography Club Meeting yesterday at lunch, since on the 5th next month, we will be having an outdoor outing to KLCC, and so we are supposed to bring our equipment. I want my own...

Nikon D60

side profile

large LCD screen too!

You see, my love (if you can call it that) for photography and cameras started even before the digital era. I got my first SLR camera when I was 15, as a gift for acing my SRP,cewah (thank god, I didn't wait for SPM results he!he!). Anyhow, this is my first baby.

This is my trusted camera that I lugged with me during my years of study in the UK too. Everytime I went travelling, I would carry two sets of camera, my T50 and another simple point and shoot compact. I still need the compact you see, because as much as I love to be behind the camera, I am a self-confessed camera "whore". Each time I passed my T50 to someone else, in order to be in the shot, I would always end up dissapointed. It was much worse then when we had to use up the whole roll of film before we could see how the photos turn out. I would have lovely pictures of everybody, but blurred and lousy shots of me!!! I remember getting some really good lucky shots with my T50, I must ransack the albums at my mom's to find some good pictures and perhaps scan them or something as a testimonial of my "seriousness" in giving photography a shot (ha!ha! good one eh, photography a shot! get it? oh never mind), back then.

Somehow, when I came back from my studies, this "hobby" was given a backseat, dunno why. Perhaps I didn't want to fork out any money for films and processing. Then I got married, had kids, busy with kids etc etc etc I dunno. Then it was the digital age. I purchased my first digital camera when I was pregnant with my second child. It was still quite expensive to get it much earlier. Now that DSLR has become more accessible I think I should pick up photography again. Plus, I have been with the Photography Club in my office ever since I was pregnant with Zaim. So it would be nice to put into use some of the tips that I have been hearing from the Pros here in the office. Now it is also much easier to store and share photos online, no costs for processing required unless I want to start a photobook, now that's a different story altogether.
So, should I??? I do have some savings left!!! I am going for a trip this March.
