Wednesdays are now Glee day!!!!

Did you all manage to catch the Pilot episode of Glee on Star World last Wednesday? Well, I did, and now it's in my calendar for the next few months. OMG! It's just fantastic.  If you thought High School Musical was good, you've gotta to check this out. It's really good! Better than HSM (not that I love HSM but I have a 9 year old daughter, come on...).

For the 1st episode's short synopsis...

Will Schuester, an optimistic high school teacher, tries to reinvent the McKinley High School's glee club, while reinventing himself. He challenges a group of outcasts to realize their true star potential, while facing harsh criticism from everyone in the school.

Full blown synopsis... let me warn you it's unbelievably detail.

The show opens with a cheerleading squad performing a routine, it flashes to their coach who is timing them and asking if they think what they are doing is hard.

The Title flashes on the screen for a second and then a rundown blue car is seen driving through the parking lot, Mr. Schuester steps out and sees a bunch of football students harassing Kurt. He doesn't do anything, but tells Finn that his report on his summer activities is still late. As Kurt is being thrown into the trash can he complains that it will ruin his new collection Mark Jacob's jacket. Finn says "Wait," and instead of helping him holds his jacket as his teammates toss Kurt into the dumpster.

Mr. Schuester then admires the 1993 trophy for National Championship in Show Choir and is seen teaching a Spanish while Finn sits repeating the words and looking bored.

The school bell rings and Sandy Ryerson and a student are practicing "Where is Love?" Sandy begins to touch the stomach of the student as Rachel watches through a crack in the door.

A sign that says Coffee points at an ending machine as Coach Tanaka and Mr. Schuester talk about budget cuts. Then Sue walks in with lattes, Emma then takes gloves and clean wipes out with her lunch as her and Sue banter about cheerleaders going over budget with a nutritionist. Sue then leaves the room as Coach Tanaka questions Emma about a Singles Mixer. Emma cleans the table as she talks and complains that her number two fireman hasn't called. She looks adoringly upon Mr. Schuester as she talks about how Sandy Ryerson was fired. Mr. Schuester asks who will take over Glee Club.

The scene then goes to Mr. Figgins office, Mr. Schuester wishes to take over Glee Club, but the principal is complaining about the budget. Figgins says it can stay as long as Mr. Schuester pays $60 a month and uses the costumes that they already have. Figgins says that when Glee Club brings as much prestige as the Cheerio's (the cheerleading squad) he can have all the money he wants.

Later that night, Mr. Schuester lies in bed next to his wife and worries (through a voice over)about how to hide the money from his wife as well as getting the kids interested. He comes up with the name "New Directions."

The bell rings the next day and the audition process begins. Mercedes Jones, a heavy set black girl performs "Respect". This is followed by Kurt Hummel, the same kid being beat up in an earlier scene does "Mr. Cellophane". Tina C (a punk Asian), and Artie (who is in a wheelchair) then sign up as well. Tina performs "I Kissed a Girl" after introducing herself with a stutter.

Stresa... stresses me!!!

Just when I thought I'm done with my "fascination" with LV handbags, and looking out to other brands to salivate and dream about... I had to check on the LV's official website to check out someone's wishlist and discovered STRESA!!! OMG!!!

I have not checked out the website for months and also have not entered the LV boutique for ages, this afternoon at lunchtime, I happened to come face to face with Stresa (that I only discovered early last week) as I came out of the ladies on my office floor. This lady thank goodness, wasn't staff, or else I risk bumping into "Stresa" everyday in the lift, in the corridors... imagine the agony! She must have just finished a meeting here at our office. Didn't see her face, or even noticed her company tag, cause my eyes fell first on what she was carrying on her lucky shoulder. Sigh! My stresa... well no, technically it's her stresa but you know what I'm saying.

My first reaction was eeerkkkk!!! What's she carrying??? Already??? But I just knew about it last week!!!! Nooooo! But it's so pretty!!!!!! OMG!OMG! I am in love! That's it, there's no turning back. If I thought I was off LV, I'm back on!!!

Some facts about my latest... "if I have some $$$ to burn on a new handbag it'll be on this".

1st 2010 Update

2nd day into 2010 already. How was your New Year Celebration? As usual, we'd try to stay awake till the stroke of midnight, but the kids gave up around 11:10 p.m and we gave up around 5-10 minutes before midnight. So, New Year was celebrated in bed all tucked in, comfy cosy even though, we actually can see KLCC and KL Tower from the balcony. He!he! Yeah, we're not really party animals. Ha!ha! perhaps when the little one is a little older, we'd do something together somewhere a little farther away from our bedroom & balcony.

What's your New Year Resolution? I don't have any simply because I haven't actually sat down and think about it. Ok, one thing that keeps popping in  my head is to eat less. Not less meal times, but eating less at each meal time. I do need to stop having our local dishes for breakfast. Sticking to cereals and toasts. Must bring cereals and bread to work! Must! must! must! Easier said than done, I'm sure. Sigh! That's it. One major 2010 Resolution.

The kids are going back to school on Monday. Everything is ready for the new school year for both schooling kids. Nayli is in Year 3 and Zarif will be in his final year at kindy, 6 years old already. How time flies.

My date night on Christmas Day.

How was your long weekend people???
As for me, how can a four day (I took the Monday off too) weekend be anything but LOVELY??? Sigh!!! Over too soon...

Christmas Day was a quite day at home, we went out for breakfast and just hang around the house.

That night, it was date night for Me and Jack... can't remember the last time. The wedding at Bora Asmara... nah, that doesn't count.

We left the house at about 8 p.m and once again got ourselves stuck in weekend traffic at Pavillion. OMG! the traffic was MAD!!! In the end we couldn't even get into the car park at Pavvy, so we chose to park at the hotel nearby, yes we'd rather pay for hotel parking rate rather than going one whole round Pavvy again and waste time in the traffic jam!

So, the plan was dinner followed by movie. We bought tickets to see Avatar. Didn't realise that I actually bought 3D. So duh!!! Since it obviously cost sooo much more, until we collected it and the lady at the counter went like, ok here's your 2 tickets for 3D Avatar blah! blah! blah! We went 3D??? Jack was relieved that it was 3D, coz he was hoping for 3D but his blur, blur, wife just went ahead and bought whatever... not even knowing that they had it in 3D even! (The thing is I was soooo not looking forward to watch Avatar! Thought that anything that wasn't chick flick would just bore me to death. I was expecting something as dark and as gross as Alien vs Predator! so, I must have been buying those tickets with my "eyes" closed. Ha!ha!)

So, movie starts at 10:30 p.m. Jack warned me it's gonna be one long movie almost 3 HOURS!!! Rolling my eyes upwards...I'm like, really?? Oh, great joy!

Dinner was at Dome. Thank goodness Jack had the foresight, about the madness of the crowd at foodcourt at that hour, if the traffic was that bad and just check out the crowd at the foyer! Found out later during dinner, via FB that our cousin actually couldn't find a place to eat and had to go back home and raid the fridge instead! Dinner without squabbling kids were sureal & peaceful! ha!ha!ha!

After the meal, it was Flat White for each of us while I went online, and he sat outside for his post meal huffa puffa!!

My Verdict - GO SEE!!!!

It is a superb movie, great imagination and imagery. Fantastic! Don't miss it! Go catch the 3D one. If you are four-eyed like me do wear your contacts! Makes it easier to wear your 3D glasses. Oh, yes it was a long movie, we left the cinema at about 1:15 a.m. He!he! so I must admit, not all guy flicks are boring! Ok, you win!

After the movie, Pavvy was deserted. Almost!

Note to hubby: Your turn to come with me watch "Did you hear about the Morgans???"!

Long weekend ahead.

Tomorrow is the start of a long weekend for me. No plans though, that's what's making me uneasy. I have to have a plan! What to do with the kids, since there'll be no more trips planned.

The itinerary for the next 4 days so far:

Friday : Nothing
Saturday : Swimming lessons in the morning and that's it.
Sunday : Nothing
Monday : Picnic and playground with my buddies and their kids in the morning.

I do have a list of things that needs to be done before the end of the school holidays, perhaps I should slot and cover some items during these four days eh?

Things to do:

1) School Uniforms - Nayli
Gotta do a bit of hunting, don't feel like buying at the normal outlet. I also need to look for a blue vest, (prefect's uniform) can you get this like anywhere???

2) School Uniforms - Zarif

I need to go to his kindy for the uniforms. Got to find time. Definitely not gonna happen this weekend since the school might still be closed, I will try after Christmas.

3) School shoes - both kids
BATA I guess, where else, plus I need to look for black canvas shoes and socks for Nayli!!!

4) Badges - to be sewn on Nayli's uniforms once item 1 is complete. I think I am gonna out source this bit! This is a lot of work okay, there are school badges, and sekolah agama badges, name tags that needs to be sewn on vests, shirts, scarves, baju kurungs aaaaaaa!!!!!!!! 

5) School books and stationeries - gotta pass by her school and see when the bookshop will be opened. 

6) Things outstanding for me, myself and I:

facial, mani & pedi (so very long overdue, poor me!), hair cut for the new year, go to PPZ to settle additional zakat... OMG!!!

7) Zaim needs new sets of feeding bottles.

8) Mama needs new handbag for the new year!

9) Not to forget I have to continue my search for my waffle maker.

I think I should stop now... for now. Sigh!

Cottons Galore!!!

This update is specially for ladies who are into cotton materials! I discovered this from Azleen. She forwarded some Msian celeb pictures, and I commented on the lovely Baju Kurung materials that they were wearing. Azleen proceeded to inform me that she thinks they came from this particular shop. Check out the online blog at http://www.azzaracottons.com/. I loved it! However, I prefer checking out and feeling the materials rather than ordering online, so I went to the shop itself on Tuesday. I updated my status on FB, and had some comments by interested parties. So Cik Puan Zalifah, this update is dedicated to you. My initial reaction was... oooh I'm not sharing this lovely place with anyone. I want all these for me!!!! Ha!Ha!Ha! Though, it really is much more fun to share. So ladies check out the website. If you do start ordering them do put in a good word for me yah, tell Puan Farah the owner (whom I did not get the opportunity to meet when I was there, I met the lovely mother whom I thought looked so young!!) that I will be coming again and again and again and hope to get a discount for promoting her lovely materials!!!! Here are some pictures that I took while I was there.

I went with my mom and my three kids, mind you. Zaim was fast asleep (with a temperature!!) in the stroller the whole time, so I managed to oogle at the materials and took my time in deciding.

Sorry this picture is a wee bit fuzzy, but then again your vision would tend to get fuzzy after looking at this pretty sight and having to narrow down your choices after a while!

These are my choices, I had to stop at 3 pieces of 2 metres each, for blouses.

My mom chose all these 3 floral prints for baju kurung.

There were also ready made baju kurungs in all sizes!!!

So, if you are like me, more of a see, feel and touch, (not to mention oogle and salivate) kinda person. Do check out the store yourself at the TTDI market, yup you read it right. The Taman Tun Dr. Ismail WET market, 2nd floor, easier access from the elevator. I found it by mistake, first time... I'd say fate was on my Shopoholic Side! :-) Happy Shopping ladies!!!

Not our usual Saturday.

Last Saturday, we woke up to a wet wet day. Nobody was in the mood to go swimming that day. Even though by 8 ish, the rain already stopped, though the sky was still overcast, and it's pretty wet and gloomy outside. Those pre-Zaim days, we would have probably gone back to bed for a good 2-3 hours more, but with the little munchkin up and about at around 6:30a.m that is out of the question. Soon after he was awake, he needed to be bathed - an immediately if you know what I mean. There were a few things on my to do list that morning.

First stop was to stop by our house, to pick-up this and that, the kids on the other hand had other plans. When they saw the toys that they have left behind, the realised that they do miss some of them after all. They picked up whatever that they could manage. It was Zaim's first time seeing all the stuff, he was still too small before to understand anything. He was amused at everything that he saw, including Nayli's Dora's Cottage. They managed to play a little bit, before they were rushed them out of the house to attend to the 2nd item on my list.

At 17 months, they are still not gender sensitive to toys.

By the time, we got everything on the list it was already lunch time. So, we had to grab something quick and fast and good (as in yummy, not super healthy obviously).

The food doesn't only go into his mouth unfortunately. After lunch we went home and unpacked the groceries, perform the Zohor prayers then we were off again to the barber (for Zarif and Papa) and to the hairdresser for the rest.

After much contemplation on my part, I decided it's time to chop off Nayli's lovely long locks, that I never have ample time to braid and style every morning for school. Somehow, this time, when I suggested she is ok about it immediately. I guess she is ready for something different plus she said she has seen a couple of the older girls in school wearing shorter hair styles. Perhaps its "in" now, in schools.

Ta daaaa the new Nayli.

Ooops, look who's turn it is now! Zaim needed a bit of trimming here and there cause I made a bit of a mess 2 weeks back. It was really bad actually, so we needed a little repair. Zaim was surprisingly quiet and ok. Looks like it'll be easy from now on. We would just head to the hairdresser the next time Zaim needs a haircut.

Totally behaved himself throughout.

He did get a little bit distracted by the sound of the hair dryer on another customer. After the hair cut, sorry no picture of the big boys, (cause obviously Jack will not take pictures at the barbers!!! ) it was already time for Zaims' meal. I made a quick spinach soup for him to be eaten with rice. Then it was bath time for everyone and we need to get ready to go out for dinner, ehem! My belated birthday dinner at The Apartment, KLCC.

This is our first time here actually. We have never even been to the one at The Curve. So, it really was quite a gamble in terms of food quality and service, though the menu looks quite enticing online. You would get the very same looking menu once there, whilst the children had their very own, as the one shown below, taken by the kids. Even thought they had about 5 main meal choices for the children, 2 was not available that night. The kids settled for the sausages and mini burger.

While waiting for our orders, we were served with this lovely warm foccacia, with what I believe is Pesto Sauce, yummy! We loved it, even the kids.

We didn't offer him the sausages thought that it would be too hard for him to chew. However, ever so swiftly, Zaim managed to grab one from Nayli's plate and happily chomped away.

Zarif is always glad that he is not served rice for his meals.

There was a lovely sitting area just a foot away from our table.

So the kids happily played there while we finished our meal.

Oh, one thing I have to mention. When the kids were playing at another sitting area a bit further away from us, I noticed that the guy behind the drinks bar cutting some apples and took it on a plate somewhere. We were surprised to find out later, they were meant for my kids! Isn't that nice? Good food, nice ambience, family friendly, good service, friendly staff & not packed on Saturday nights. I'm coming back to this place.
