Attending a do with a new hairdo.

We were invited to my office mate's wedding on July 12th, who also happened to be another office mate's nephew. I decided to bring Zaim along too, since this would be his first debut out with his new hairdo, as if he notices! Anyhow, Hafiz, the groom is my office mate, but Fida his aunty is the one that I would like to feature here. More about Fida in a bit. Before that, when we were back at the office looking at the photos, I noticed that the bride looks a little like, Julia in SpaQ (Farawahida, whats her name). Yes, busted! I did follow quite a number of episodes of SpaQ ok! Well, it coincides with my meal times, and my mother always want to have TV3 on, in order to wait for the Azan.Yeah, yeah whatever.

Hafiz and wife at the main table.
Here see, take a closer look at the bride, doesn't she look so familiar?
Back to Hafiz's aunty, Fida my friend. One of the reasons, we try not to miss this wedding is because we knew the menu of the day! Roasted lamb (a.k.a Fida's kambing)!!!
Proof!
I have never been and still not a fan of any form of lamb dishes. I find that the smell is too ovewhelming and just so not appetising. However, I somehow have no problem whatsoever, when I have Fida's Kambing. Ok, actually, credit should go to the hubby, Ariff and his team. Don't know what their secret is to preparing the meat, but it is always so delicous, tender and lamb scent free! Whenever Fida's hubby's been engaged to any of our office mates makan-makan, the Piece de Resistance will definitely be his infamous "Kambing". Mmm yumm!!! Not to be missed. I cannot wait to hold one, soon insya-allah. Pray that I would be able to hold one major makan-makan so that you could try the Kambing out yourself.

What a difference to a wedding meal eh? Roasted lamb, with mash potatoes, garlic bread and salads. Zarif, my picky eater even had a second helping.

That's Zaim, with his uneven new hairdo with Aunty Fida, wife of Towkey Kambing and Tisya, who was the bride's maid for the day.

Some of us from work. L to R (standing): Sarah, Zila, Ilme & Fida.
L to R (sitting): Ezri, Linda, Zaim with a Kuih Bahulu in the hand and Me.

Another shot with the hostess, who was even busier than the mother of the groom.

Hair today, Gone tomorrow.

My kids have been blessed with this thick mop of hair, Zaim included. He is at this stage of forever sweating! So, I tend to not like leaving his hair really long. Usually if I could find the time and energy, I would do a quick snip snap trim before his bath time. This time, the father finally decided to join in the session and took over, but with his trusty clippers... so the session became somewhat longer and louder. Would have uploaded the video, but I think I'll spare you guys out there. His crying might prompt some faint hearted out there to report us to Teledera, I'm sure.

These are 2 BEFORE pictures on July 4th at Yaya's Soiree, a day before the hair cut.

At first he was cool. He had a comb to amuse himself with.

Still ok, though he cannot keep still.

Checking on what's buzzing in his father's hand behind his back.

Oh, so that's the buzzing machine.

Look, it comes with cables and stuff. Nice!

Hey, why you have to hold me like that?

Oh oh!, Showing signs of distress already!

Trying to get the "instrument of torture" away from the "torturer"!
He has had it! He has reached his limits. Had to be restrained! Poor kid!

Enough is enough, these people just don't know when to stop!
Things got really chaotic, that I even forgot the AFTER picture. Check on the next update for his new look!

Zaim's splashing time at home.

Zaim loves his bath time. Just for the record I took this, around June 27th, he was 13 months. I have been meaning to update this, but just did not find the time, since I was really really busy then. Before I upload the latest weekend photos, I think I should go back and update pictures in the right sequence, cause since then, there are a few developments as far as Zaim is concerned. Notice, how long his hair is here, how it can be parted and the fringe, (the fact that there is a fringe is bad enough) it also reaches his eyebrows. Apologise if the picture of the toilet bowl, erks your view. I was not in charge of the camera. I was bathing him, and had enlisted Nayli to help take the pictures, so since the instruction was, "Hurry, take some pictures of adik, before the bath water gets cold!". She was just following instruction. I forgot to mention, try to not take the toilet bowl! She was concentrating to take the cutest poses that the brother could spontaneously, and obliviously give. So here they are...

In memory of MJ, Gone too soon...

We are still in mourning, hubby and I. Managed to catch the memorial service repeat last night on Channel V. I was moved to tears, I actually couldn’t control my tears. Sobbing away till my head ached!!! Honestly!

I cried when this guy said to the kids how their father was not a strange man, it was how people treated him that was strange!! How true!!

The best was of course Brooke Shield's eulogy. I quote from the web here: In her moving tribute to her friend, entertainer Michael Jackson, at the Michael Jackson Memorial in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009, actor Brooke Shields quoted from the novel The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Expurey. After saying that Michael Jackson was often referred to as "the King," she indicated that what he reminded her of was The Little Prince. Here is the passage she read from the novel:

"What moves me so deeply, about this sleeping prince...is his loyalty to a flower--the image of a rose shining within him like a flame within a lamp, even when he's asleep. And I realized he was even more fragile than I had thought. Lamps must be protected. A gust of wind can blow them out."

Isn't this so true??? I think so. Sob! Sob!!

She continued reading from the story a bit later in her remarks:

"Eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart. What's most important is invisible."
She said that her friend, Michael Jackson, always looked at everything with his heart.

For those out there who might be interested in reading the book and/or watching a version of the story in movie form, The Little Prince has been adapted to film. A
live-action film was released in 1974 directed by Stanley Donen. An animated TV series also exists; its pilot aired in 1982.

Even Usher had difficulty singing Gone too Soon...

After the memorial service, we also managed to catch on MTV, MTV presents Michael Jackson: The King of Pop, which featured all his music videos from his debut till his final concert. That guy was brilliant right till his last day on earth.

He is THE Artist of the Millennium and he is Gone too Soon. Love you MJ and I know God must Love you more. God Bless!
