2nd Heavy Lunch In a Row - Dim Sum Lunch

After the lunch at Delicious on Tuesday, we had another big lunch. This time it was our boss's treat. The restaurant that got the highest vote was ...

Yes. the Chinese Restaurant @M.O. It was my first time there, at the Chinese Restaurant that is. Nice place, good service, nice ambience with impressively high ceiling. I guess the fact that it was at the same level as the Grand Ballroom, enables it to enjoy that benefit.

Us - Ready for our big feast!

Some sort of a boiled salted peanuts, mini appetiser.

Sauces and condiments.

Yam Ball

don't know what these were but I ate them anyway.

in the midst of our many many courses

fried rice

We had about 9 - 10 types of dim sum, did not manage to take pictures of them all. Too busy eating and snapping up the food before the others do so. Ha!ha! You should have seen us, we were like piranhas!!

Chicken Dumplings
Finally for dessert, we had Durian Pancake. So rich and creamy. I am not a fan of durians, but I have to say these tasted really good!

Here's a look at the texture inside.

American Idol 2009

And the winner is....

I have always favoured Adam Lambert and have always thought that he would be the next AI.

However, after the brilliant rendition by Kris Allen, Kanye West's Heartless, I switched my vote to him. I guess most of America did too...

Kris Allen was crowned the "American Idol" Season 8 champ on Wednesday night (May 20), after nearly 100 million votes declared the 23-year-old Conway, Arkansas native the winner over runner-up Adam Lambert. During the two hour-plus season finale, contestants were paired with veteran recording artists for duets. Allen broke out the guitar with Keith Urban to perform the country singer's "Kiss a Girl;" third runner-up Danny Gokey and Lionel Richie did a medley of "Hello," "Just Go," and "All Night Long;" Cyndi Lauper teamed up with fourth-place finisher Allison Iraheta on "Time After Time;" and Lambert joined the glam rock band KISS for a pyro-heavy take on "Detroit Rock City" and "I Wanna Rock and Roll All Nite." All thirteen contestants provided the vocals for Carlos Santana on "Black Magic Woman" and "Smooth," and Lambert and Allen performed "We Are the Champions" with the big surprise guest of the night, Queen. Allen's victory came as a surprise to "American Idol" followers, particularly those who frequent "American Idol" blogs and fansites. Between the two Season 8 finalists, Adam Lambert has topped Kris Allen in blog buzz by an average of about 51% since both singers made the Top 36 in Feburary, according to Nielsen BuzzMetrics. And while overall buzz for both has grown as the pool has narrowed, 16% more bloggers mentioned Adam Lambert instead of Kris Allen on May 19 after the final performances aired.

Delicious Lunch

I will hardly say no to an invite to have a meal at delicious. Never! Last week, we were supposed to choose a place to eat, because our boss wanted to treat us. So there were a few suggestions and we were supposed to vote. Delicious at the new Dua Residence Annexe was one of the choices, however, it lost to another place, which will be another blog update. Anyhow, just the day before that particular meal with boss and the whole department, Zak and I decided to go to delicious anyway, for a meal. Hafiz joined us too, cause Zak owe him a Pavlova. Whatever!!!

That was our first time at the Dua Residence Annexe Delicious outlet. The entrance... nice, you have to take the elevator from the Basement Car Park. It's at Level 1.

As you can see, it retains the same deco as in their other outlets, the white-washed branches springing out of the pillars and walls, and also the white-washed birdcages. Loads of tables and sitting arrangements, the long couches with scatter cushions are there too, and I noticed, there is even an area for a band with some sofas and low coffee tables, perhaps for evening guests.

Diving straight to our meal, for appetiser, we had the Calamari. Which came surprisingly in a shrunken bowl!! Am I imagining things? I'm not sure, I remember that it used to be a bigger serving!!!

My compulsory choice of beverage each time I come here, is the Frosty Lemon Tea. I love it!

The Garden Salad - the dressing is out of this world.

Seriously Delicious Cheeseburger

Spicy Seafood Spaghetti

Yes, we finished every little bit, not even a tiny morsel is spared or rather wasted!!

Even packed to go!

For me personally, the piece de resistance comes at the end of the meal,
in the form of the Berrilicious Chocolate Pavlova.

and this Chocolicious Sundae.

Our sated and satisfied (a.k.a stuffed) faces!
I'm quite sure I have raved about probably the same dishes during other times that I was at Delicious. However, what warrants this other entry and particularly this Dua Residence Outlet is the other thing that they have here which is - Delicious Ingredients, situated at Ground Floor. This place is a deli cum mini mart selling assorted gourmet stuffs including your normal daily necessities that you can find in your local mini mart. They even have kitchen utensils and equipments from various brands including my fav. Kitchen Aid mixer... sigh! Managed some shots of some of the items sold. This place is fantastic. Would definitely come back here.

A vast selection of marshmallows, nougats and such.

Lovely Chocies.

Equipments for you kitchen.

Roasting dish.

My dream mixer... still!

Beautifully laid out , on the left are more chocolates, I spotted bars of Belgian Chocolates, I had to refrain myself from buying them. That was a tough moment for me. Ha!ha! The steel rack in the centre holds an array of multi-shaped and sized pastas. Some unusual ones that you will not find at your local Hyper Market! Cannot remember what's on the left perhaps tea or herbs and spices. Some close up pictures below.

The chocolate bars that I mentioned earlier.

The pasta.

These are marinated/pickled artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes and olives.
Ready to eat or to add to your pasta and salads.

Jars and bottles of sauces & spices.

Vanilla Bean pods!!!
Are they all lovely?? Well, I think they are. I must go back next time and actually buy something. When that happens, you can be sure that I will blog about it here!

Weekend Update part 2 - Sunday morning

Finally, my final part of my weekend updates. Nayli had her swimming assessment on Sunday morning. It was not a Swimming Gala/Competition, basically they just wanted to determine that these kids could float and swim across the 50 mtr lap pool. Even though it was not a competition, it was still nerve-wrecking, especially for the parents, myself and hubby included. She did pretty well. Attached here are some pictures and videos.

Here they are queueing up before starting.

Still in the Q, while waiting for her turn to jump into the pool. The father standing behind giving final tips and pointers. Zaim was there too.

When it got too hot, they decided to watch from the side.

At the starting line. Slipping on her gogles.

The first "event" was breaststroke, 2 laps!

From the starting position.

Returning to the starting position.

Finishing her 2nd lap.

High 5! You did it girl!!! Well done!!! We are sooo proud of you!

Next, the freestyle. Just 1 lap. Thank goodness, the video is a bit shaky because I had Zaim on my lap.

Waiting for her turn next for the backstroke.

See her in action. Watch out for 2 girls coming from the left and coming in front of Nayli in her lane. I must have held my breath till the end because I was afraid that Nayli would panicked and stop kicking and drowned (I know, a bit dramatic)! Thank goodness, she was ok.

This was how it looked at the finished line, 3 girls at the same time.

Finally, treading! Nayli jumped in without having a clue of what to do, other than staying a float for 1 minute. Luckily she caught up fast, while oberserving quickly what the others were doing. Basically, we found out later treading is actually Vertical Breaststroke! Perhaps her swimming instructor told her but she was not paying attention. Plus, she missed her practice lessons, the evening before since, we didn't take her cause I had my annual dinner. You could tell that all the parents there were nervous too, cause when the whistle was blown to indicate the end of the 1 minutes, there was a loud cheer from everyone (outside the pool that is, those inside, were panting for dear life!!! Poor kids!).

All over! My little girl is a swimmer!!

After all that, time for some fun at the kiddies pool with Zaim. Zarif is in the other pool having lessons.
