Saturdays are never - R & R day for me.

My Saturdays are the same usually. The same routine, every week. It's starts off with a very loud commotion (on my side) to get everyone up, and take their bath, have a quick breakfast and out of the house before 9 a.m. Am I always successful every Saturday to get them out of bed? YES! Am I always successful to get us all in the car, without any thing left behind like, goggles, library books, shoes, kick-boards, water bottles, child before 9 a.m? NEVER!!! Sigh! The trials and tribulations of motherhood.

Last Saturday was no different.  It was swimming lessons for the Nayli and Zarif, while I take Zaim for a dip in the kiddie pool. Brrr, the water was cold, cause it was rather cloudy that morning. Zaim enjoyed himself nevertheless.

Zaim was getting impatient. He cannot wait to change and jump into the pool a.s.a.p!!

I took my time getting Zaim ready because I wanted to catch some pictures of Nayli swimming. Can you spot her? She's the one on the far right.

There she is... getting closer.

Even closer.

Boo!

Nayli, after 2 years of swimming lessons she is doing pretty well. Way better than her mom at that age, heck even now!!! They ended their lessons a little earlier because they wanted to be on time for the prize giving ceremony for a Colouring Contest at the Kids' Library which they submitted their entry last week.

Nayli's last minute entry.

Zarif's.

In the end, they both walked off with the consolation prizes. That's okay kids, try again next time. They must also learn that's it's okay to lose sometimes.

Brunch was the normal fare of Thosai telur bawang, mee mamak etc etc. Zaim wanted the dhall curry to dip his thosai into, so I let him try it!

The real thing.

There you go! No exaggeration here.

Aumm, and into his mouth! Yummy right Zaim?

After brunch, we headed straight to a AEON Setiawangsa to look for Nayli's school uniform. After like 5 minutes only in the shop, Zarif was already getting "tired" of waiting.

Zaim, was really full and sleepy, must be the thosai and dhall. So, he slept peacefully in the corner while I concentrated on Nayli.

Trying out the Baju Kurung. Fits well.

Long sleeve shirt and long skirt. The shirt is a tad too big, so we
had to look elsewhere for it.

Once we have gotten most of the items except for the vest, black socks and shoes. We rushed home only to change, replenish Zaim's milk stock and perform our prayers, then we were out of the house again to attend a wedding in Shah Alam. My 2nd Shah Alam wedding invitation 2 weeks in a row. That's me and Awa at the table, enjoying the fried chicken served.

Zaim enjoyed himself, as he gets to run around after having the
chicken and briani rice too.

The wedding was held at the Shah Alam Museum, well actually in a hall adjacent to the museum. Entrance was via the museum. We got a glimpse of the museum, like this Melaka Bullock Cart that the kids found intriguing.

Our search for Nayli's school vest continued at another uniform specialty shop in Kota Damansara. BINGO! We found it! Finally!!

Now, that was Saturday afternoon. That night we had another wedding in Sungai Penchala at this lovely restaurant called Bora Asmara. All pictures from now onwards, courtesy of Awa. Thanks Awa, wrong occasion for me to not bring a camera!!

Yup, me and Awa again. No, we weren't clad in traditional attire because the Dress code was Smart Casual. There is a short story to this dress code really. Our beloved hubbies, Awa and I were the ones who received the invitation. Jack left his invite at the office. After we went to the uniform shop at Kota D'sara, by chance and a HUGE stroke of luck on our side, he decided to drop in his office to pick up the invitation card to check on the directions to this place. Having seen the invitation which was a simple single piece of card, I decided to have a look just to have a quick read through. Luckily again, I notice the Dress Code :SMART CASUAL. So, I was like, hey check out the dress code. Yeah, Jack said casually. Hmmm, so I thought great, no baju kurung, and immediately I texted Awa to let her know. Boy, were we relieved that we noticed the dress code. When we arrived at that place 98% of the people were casually dressed, like resort wear kinda theme. We were like, OMG! Had we arrived in traditional costume, we would look so out of place, very very the kg.com!!! (kampung) ha!ha!ha!

Nice table setting, black table cloth! Classy!

The projector was up showing the akad nikah video. There was also an informal video clip of the newlyweds sort of conversing with each other expressing their feelings about getting married or something like that.Really cute.

The Chocolate as the wedding favour. On the box, there was a little note attached with a saying: You don't marry someone you can live with, you marry the person you cannot live with out. Aaaah!

The Bride and Groom.

Pengantin Lama! Ha!ha! (NewlyOldyweds ???)

This was what was on my plate the first round, for seconds, I took the Tomyam soup. They had both the Western and local theme going on as far food was concerned. For dessert, I had a generous helping of delicious Puding Sago Gula Melaka, the coconut milk was just so creamy!

There was also some Latin Music for entertainment.

A lovely Acapella choir performance.

Me, Awa and Salwa.
